The lines for the food were similarly tight. I told an employee of my concern the second day, but unsurprisingly no changes were made. The lifeguards in the water were masked, but I was disappointed that they didn’t do what the lodge said they would, which would have required twice the staff to actually enforce the protocols. There were signs that said “please walk” but I saw kids running and no lifeguards telling them to stop. The people standing in lines for rides were standing probably 2 feet apart with no instruction to space out. However, there was no enforcement of their safety “commitments.” They had lots of hand sanitizing stations and masks available, but there were dozens and dozens of people in the water park who weren’t actively in the water-just sitting in chairs and relaxing-who didn’t have masks and it wasn’t enforced at all. I would have hated to be there when it was “full capacity” because it felt super crowded as it was. Negatives: I was hesitant to go during Covid, but I was reassured by their website that they were taking precautions and their safety protocols seriously and that they had limited their capacity (the attached photo is an example of many posters hung throughout the lodge). Our hotel suite was very spacious and it was super convenient to be able to just take the elevator down to the water park. I appreciated the fact that the kiddie area had small slides that my youngest enjoyed going down all by himself. Good things first: This was my first time going to a Great Wolf Lodge, and the kids loved the water park slides. If you want a great family experience their are better options to spend the big money you will at Great Wolf Lodge. I have to give credit to the lifeguards, they were all very kind. Our three sons had fun and we made the most of the time we had at the lodge, but we will NOT be back. To add to this I got bitten by a insect that landed on my arm inside the water park. The water park rides and pools need a good cleaning (vacuum) the dirt is visible at the bottom of the lazy river. I asked for a map when I checked in and was told, we don’t have any paper to print one so you can take a picture of the map in the lobby.ĭon’t waist you money on the Magi quest with wands, some of the sites were broken and it is outdated technology and it cost $100.00 for three kids to do it. The entire lodged just needs well cleaned. Our room was very dusty and there was hair on the floor in the bathroom, the heater/ air conditioner was extremely loud. It is outdated, covered in dust and dirt and everything is very overpriced. Overall this is a adequate place to stay. I hope it gets better as the times improve. Bummer for the kids! really thought with kids safety at hand no safety issue would be messed with. even with masks on we weren’t allowed to get near them. They did however eliminate everywhere to sit outside the restaurants and we had to eat in our rooms with no plates. I knew in the water they wouldn’t wear masks but i mean no one around the water area, very few in the arcade, and no one in the restaurants are wearing them at any time except the lodge staff. Finally, almost no one was wearing masks or social distancing. Oh and the 50 dollar birthday package was a cake, a poster, and a couple balloons. They got a cheap pair of goggles and a couple games for 50 bucks. We buy “pup passes” each trip and this time we upgraded to a “wolf pass.” Not worth it. The rooms may have been refurbished but the water park area needs to be attacked by a scrub brush. No hot tubs, really abbreviated hours, minimal amounts of lifeguards, no outdoor area, even the birthday ears were extra this year.
