9/3/2023 0 Comments Minecraft bastion blueprint![]() ![]() The rates to get them outside of the one guaranteed in treasure bastions seems very low. What happens if you just can’t find an upgrade? It’s not like every bastion is a treasure one, they’re one of the rarer types of bastions. On one hand it doesn’t make getting netherite harder in any meaningful way, but it also adds this extra step to getting netherite which feels tedious for no reason. On the whole, love the ideas behind the revamp to the system, and the problems the overhaul is trying to address. perhaps some tweaks there wouldn't go amiss. it seems that the chance of finding trim templates in generated structures is consistently quite low, especially with the cost of duplication (although I agree that more late-game uses of diamonds is a good idea). Or maybe I should just get over myself and learn to raid bastions safely.Īnother minor note. I would appreciate an alternative way to access the Upgrade Templates, even if it requires more grinding or time than raiding bastions. As a risk-averse player who exclusively plays Hardcore and avoids bastions (which I understand is the point of adding the Upgrade Templates to the bastion), I worry about what this change will mean for the progression of a player like me through the game. However, I believe the Upgrade Template only being able to be found in bastions seems like quite an increase in difficulty, especially with the increased cost of upgrading armour and tools. Love the trim idea and design – the customisation of armour will be great, especially on servers. ![]() I think there are 3 ways this can be kept while being balanced (and without having to buff/nerf anything):ġ) Make it spawn in another structure (ruined portals, fortress, or maybe a new one), even though I admit bastions is the most logical choice lorewiseĢ) Make piglins have a very small chance to give it when bartering.ģ) The least logical one lorewise but may be a good thing, making the wandering trader trade it (with a stock of only 1 or 2), which would make trading with him more interesting and useful and would encourage players to explore the world to search for one.Įither way, I like this update so far, even if this is kept that way I'm ok with it as I rarely use any netherite anyway (too precious to be carried) :) Though the only problem is the way you get it, although pretty common, bastions are kinda hard to raid (even for old players like myself). The idea of having to get one more item to upgrade to netherite would make it way more valuable so I can see the good side. I mean, to be very honest this isn't a bad idea overall. ![]() But as it stands this change feels a bit too overwhelming in terms of it's risk. If diamonds are to be given another use I think it would be best to have more uses that aren't going to be carried on the player at all times. For most players this just causes a very steep increase in the cost of netherite armour and makes dying even more overwhelmingly painful than it already was. Many players say this is good to finally have a use for diamonds, or that diamonds were previously useless due to villager trading, but that misses the factor that most players don't use villagers. This doesn't take into account the extra 28 for the armour if you use trims since that feels off topic to this thread, but the point still stands. This also means that dying is even more punishing than it already was, with about 56 diamonds extra assuming 4 armour and 4 tools. I feel like this would be fine if templates weren't consumed on use, as then the cost is the same but still requires hunting out a bastion, but having both makes the item cost skyrocket. This new system takes that and tacks on an extra 28 diamonds just for the armour. With the old system, a full set of netherite armour required 24 diamonds, 4 netherite ingots and however much time getting the right enchantments. However on the flip side I heavily dislike how much excess value this adds to equipment. I really like how this makes it so you need to hunt out a bastion before you can upgrade to netherite. ![]()
